Replicating between accounts

Hi

I have a production account and an account I would like to share with a contractor. How can I:

  1. Copy a selection of historic streams into my contractor account?
  2. Replicate a topic into my contractor account?

Hey Chris, I think I can help!
I’d start with 2). From your contractor workspace, look for the “External topic retransmitter” code sample. Follow up the setup & deploy instructions and it should do just what you need.
Then, you can do 1). Go back to your production account and replay the selection of streams into the topic that is getting replicated in your contractor’s account. To replay a stream, go to “Persisted data”, select a stream and click the first of the symbols next to the name (it says “Replay stream” if you hover over it), then follow the instructions. If you don’t want to replay streams into a production topic, you can create another topic (and replicate it from the contractor side) just to do the replay.
